Gifted and Talented Updates: Admissions Guidelines, Handbooks, Family Information and Request for Testing
Pre K and second grade application Deadline: November 7
G&T Handbooks are available for parents. The handbooks explain the assessment and admissions process for Gifted & Talented (G&T) programs for the 2015–16 school year last week. These are for PK – second grade families only..
G&T Request for Testing Period: Families of students in pre-K through second grade who are interested in taking the G&T assessment should fill out a RFT form online https://prod.semsnycdoe.com/parentsite/, at a public school, or at a borough enrollment office http://schools.nyc.gov/ChoicesEnrollment/NewStudents/BEO/BoroughEnrollmentOffices.htm by November 7.
Request for Testing
Beginning Wednesday, October 8, 2014 you can submit a Request for Testing (RFT) form to have your child tested for a G&T program. The deadline to submit a RFT form is Friday, November 7, 2014. We encourage families to submit the form online. If you prefer to use a paper form, please review the Handbook for instructions. Whether you submit online or in person, be sure to get a receipt!
Information sessions about G&T admissions for kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade will be held throughout New York City this October. Review the complete information session schedule below to find a session in your borough.
